Schlitterbahn temporarily closes after Memorial Day weekend for upgrades

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS – Schlitterbahn Riverpark and Resort on Padre Island will close temporarily after this weekend for upgrades.  It is scheduled to open tomorrow, Saturday, May 26th at 10:00 am in celebration of Memorial Day weekend and remain open through Monday, May 28th.  However, the waterpark will close down again on Tuesday, May 29th through Friday, June 1st.

According to a press release from the waterpark management, they are closing due to more improvements after the owners, made more investments in the park.  The park will open on Saturday, June 2nd in time for Teacher Appreciation Day.

“We are thrilled to be opening Memorial Day weekend,” said Jim Kunau, general manager. “The continued improvements reaffirm our commitment to providing guests quality service and the best possible park experience.”

Schlitterbahn Corpus Christi’s ownership group, Diamond Beach Holdings, LLC, has invested more than $1 million in park landscaping and upgrades to prepare for the summer opening.  

Schlitterbahn Riverpark & Resort is hiring full-time and part-time positions for the season including lifeguards, food and beverage staff, housekeeping services, retail attendants, landscapers and concessions workers.
