CORPUS CHRISTI – Schlitterbahn is getting ready to open for the summer. Employees are busy finishing up $1,000,000 worth of improvements to the water park.
The work includes new landscaping, new paint for the pools, new carpet for the admissions area, upgrades to the resort lobby and elevators even new dish washers and ice machines.
"What we really are trying to do is to make sure that we’re vibrant and lively and people feel like they’ve gone somewhere that’s just not Corpus Christi, Texas. It’s somewhere that could be any resort in the world," said Schlitterbahn General Manager, Jim Kunau.
The water park’s summer season grand opening is Saturday at 10 a.m.
Most of the rides should be open.
