Governor Greg Abbott has ordered flags to be lowered to half-staff in memory of those who lost their lives in the Santa Fe High School Shooting.

In a statement released today, Abbott says the devastating act sustained by the community has deeply touched the core of who we are as caring people.

In the statement, Abbott directs the Texas flag to be immediately lowered to half staff, where they should remain through sunset, Tuesday, May 22.  Flags should return to full-staff the following day.

The governor says he and First Lady Cecilia Abbott extend their prayers of comfort to the survivors and the families of the victims and will continue to keep them in their thoughts and prayers.
