Earning a spot on the A-list with a 97 is Subway located at 1202 Chaparral.
The Donut Palace located at 5117 Weber scored a 97.
La Michoacana Bakery #2 located at 6337 South Padre Island Drive scored a 96.
Los Altos Mexican Restaurant #2 located at 5555 Up River Road scored a 95.
My Favorite Muffin & Bagel Café located at 6418 Staples scored a 95.
Paul’s Seafood Market located at 9810 South Padre Island Drive scored a 94.
Recess Bar & Grill located at 5710 Alameda scored a 94.
Taqueria Express & Seafood located at 4346 Ayers scored a 94.
Sonic Drive-Inn located at 14401 South Padre Island Drive scored a 93.
Dropping down to the B-list with an 85 is Bamboo Garden located at 1220 Airline.
Violations included food trays stacked on top of each other, raw chicken stored above cooked, food stored on the floor, meat not stored properly, employee needed to wash hands and wear gloves to handle egg rolls, bleach and WD 40 were stored near lids, no paper towels, flies, employees not wearing hair or beard restraints, wiping towels were not stored properly, the drain next to prep tables needed a cover and standing water at dish washing area.
Oso Grill & Fishing Pier located at 6124 Ocean Drive scored an 82.
Health inspectors found oysters kept at the wrong temperature, chemical spray bottles not stored properly, consumer warnings needed to be posted, food inside refrigerator needs to be labeled, no paper towels, dogs inside the building, employees not wearing hair restraints, fish not thawed properly, scoops not stored properly, back kitchen needs to be screened and the restroom doors must be self-closing.
