Since Texas SandFest started in 1997 it has grown into an extensive 3 day long festival where artists from around the world come to Port Aransas both as amateurs and professionals and compete each year in the competition.  There are always changing themes each year but the main theme/mission stays the same: "Texas Sandfest Gives Back" and after the year they have had with Hurricane Harvey, it’s a testament to the character of Port A.

Day two of the Corpus Christi Rodeo was military night. There was barrel racing, bull riding, and much more. Turnpike Troubadours were the concert of the night.

The Calallen Wildcats softball team won the first game of their playoff series on the same night that the baseball team swept the 30-5A district championship. Veteran’s Memorial swept their series versus Gregory-Portland and Tuloso-Midway forced a game three with Carroll set for tomorrow.

The Hooks beat the Frisco Roughriders in extra innings, they scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 10th, so cue the fireworks. They’ll play 3 more games at home then hit the road.
