Crews respond to west side house fire

Corpus Christi Firefighters were called out to battle a fire inside of a house on the city’s west-side.

The fire broke out around 2 p.m. at a home near the intersection of Trojan Drive near the Greenwood intersection.

Firefighters saw flames coming from the home when they arrived at the scene. Firefighters say no one was inside the home when the fire broke out. Additional firefighters were called in as investigators noticed fire coming from the entrance of the home.

Investigators say the fire damaged 50 percent of the home and no one can live inside of the home.

Investigators are looking into what caused the fire.

Red Cross is available for the people who are now without a home.

Firefighters are currently investigating what sparked the blaze.
