A man accused of brutally killing a woman wants the Nueces County D.A. and his assistant to be taken off his case.

Joseph Tejeda who is accused of murdering 21-year-old Breanna Wood appeared back in court Friday morning.

Wood’s remains were found in a box on some property near Bluntzer back in January after she had been missing for three months.

Tejeda’s attorney’s asked Judge Jack Pulcher to have District Attorney Mark Gonzalez and the assistant D.A. removed because both were previously involved in a burglary case involving Tejeda.

District Attorney Mark Gonzalez says he wants to remain on the case.

Judge Pulcher is expected to make a decision next week on whether Gonzalez and his assistant will be removed.
