Corpus Christi Police have made an arrest in the Breanna Wood homicide case.

According to CCPD, Joseph Mathew Tejeda, 26, is charged with the murder of 21-year-old Breanna Wood. Tejeda was already in jail on an unrelated charge when police served him with a warrant for murder.

Wood’s mother reported her daughter missing on October 11, 2016.

On January 3, 2017 an inmate lead authorities to Wood’s body on a property just South of Bluntzer. The inmate claimed he was paid to dispose of Wood’s body.

The Medical Examiner later determined Wood was fatally shot.

Police said they do not expect to make more arrests.
