CORPUS CHRISTI, Tx — Multiple agencies are investigating an early morning apartment fire that broke out in a Calallen area apartment complex.
The Corpus Christi Fire Department and the Annaville Fire Department were called out to the Churchhill Square Apartments on Western Drive just before 3 Friday morning.
When they arrived, crews encountered heavy smoke and flames in at least one building.
Firefighters were able to get the fire under control in about an hour, but remained on scene to monitor and put out any hot spots.
Crews conducted a sweep of the building and all residents have been accounted for.
Officials believe multiple families will be displaced due to the fire.
The Red Cross has been notified to assist these families.
Went through all of the apartments to conduct a search.
An investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of the fire.
