CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas —

Corpus Christi police say they are looking for one or two suspects involved in an armed robbery.

The suspected robbery happened around 4:50 pm Wednesday in the 4600 block of Kirkwood Drive.

Captain Dave Cook, with the Corpus Christi police department, says several suspects forced their way inside of a home. The suspects were allegedly armed and yelled out, "Where is the safe?" Captain Cook said two people inside the home were struck in the face.

Cook said the suspects fled from the home when they started to hear lights and sirens. Police said they took two suspects into custody and are looking for at least two more suspects.

Police officers told neighbors to stay vigilant.

The incident caused a nearby daycare center on lockdown.
