7/9 updates:
4:49 p.m. - Nueces Co. reports 343 new cases Thursday and two additional deaths. There have been 37 COVID-19-related deaths in the county. The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the county is now 5,260, and 493 are considered to have recovered.
4:03 p.m. - Aransas Co. announced 3 additional cases of COVID-19. It now has 49 confirmed COVID-19 cases.
3:55 p.m. - San Patricio Co. is reporting 17 additional cases of COVID-19. It now has 284 confirmed COVID-19 cases, with 138 recovered patients.
7/8 updates:
11:11 p.m. - Jim Wells Co. is reporting 12 additional cases Wednesday.
8:45 p.m. - Mayor Sam Fugate and Kleberg County Judge Rudy Madrid report 5 new cases for the county making 58 active cases.
Officials say one of the new cases "involves an infant."
8:44 p.m. - Brooks County confirms 11 new cases, 29 total.
8:09 p.m. - Refugio County reports two new positive COVID-19 cases in Refugio County. Refugio County has 25 active cases.
5:03 p.m. - Nueces Co. is reporting 445 new cases Wednesday, a new single-day record for the county. It has now has a total of 4,917 confirmed cases; 463 of those patients have recovered. Of the current cases, 369 are hospitalized and 103 are in ICU.
4:59 p.m. Nueces Co. has announced eight additional deaths Wednesday, bring the total death toll to 35.
The patients reportedly are four men and four women, one in their 20s, and the ranging in ages from 50s-80s, and underlying conditions include liver disease, hypertension, type 2 diabetes and coronary heart disease..
3:15 p.m. - San Patricio County is reporting 25 additional cases of COVID-19. It now has 267 confirmed COVID-19 cases, with 111 recovered patients.
9:15 a.m. - Duval County is reporting two more additional cases of COVID-19. Duval County now has 65 confirmed COVID-19 cases.
9 a.m. - Jim Hogg County is reporting one additional case of the COVID-19 virus. They now have a total of 25 cases, with 14 recovered.
7/7 updates:
8:13 p.m. - Brooks County reports 7 new cases, 18 total.
4:44 p.m. - Nueces Co. is reporting a total of 388 new cases Tuesday. Of the 4,472 cases reported in total, 449 have recovered. Hospitals are treating 285 patients, with 88 currently in ICU.
4:40 p.m. - Aransas Co. is reporting nine new cases, for a total of 44 reported cases. Of those, 11 patients have recovered.
4:20 p.m. - Nueces Co. is reporting a total of eight COVID-19-related deaths as of Tuesday afternoon. Five deaths were reported earlier Tuesday, and three more have been added to Tuesday's toll. This brings the county's COVID-19 death count to 27 patients.
2:15 p.m. - San Patricio Co. reported 38 new cases Tuesday, bringing its total number of reported cases to 242.
9:45 a.m. - Jim Wells County reported 10 new COVID cases, bringing the county's confirmed total to 218. County officials also announced that four others have been released from isolation, as of Saturday.
9:24 a.m. - Jim Hogg county officials announced that 24 COVID cases have been announced there during the pandemic. Fourteen of the cases have recovered, but 10 others remain active.
9:08 a.m. - Six new COVID cases have been diagnosed in Bee County, pushing the total to 91 during the pandemic.
7/6 updates:
9:39 p.m. - A woman in her 80s became the most recent COVID-19-related death in Nueces Co. late Monday. She reportedly was hospitalized in mid-June, was released, and was readmitted in July. She suffered from underlying medical conditions including coronary artery disease, hypertension and anemia.
5:39 p.m. - Jim Hogg County extends county-wide curfew. The curfew is from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday and midnight to 5 a.m. for Friday and Saturday.
Violators could face a $500 fine. Essential workers traveling to or from work are exempt with a note from their employer.
5:25 p.m. - Nueces Co.-Corpus Christi Public Health Director Annette Rodriguez expressed her frustration during Monday's briefing that some still don't regularly wear masks in public, saying it is a large part of why hospitals are overburdened with COVID-19 patients, and why the virus has spread so quickly throughout the county.
She said social distancing and mask-wearing and limiting your time in public are simple requests officials have asked of the public to help stop the spread.
"These are not difficult things to do," she said. "If we aren't doing them, maybe we don't understand how germs spread. Or maybe we're just lazy. Or maybe, we simply don't care. I wanna believe we just don't know how germs are spread," giving an example of how germs can spread from one person to another.
5:19 p.m. - Corpus Christi City Manager Peter Zanoni said 3,000 people are on the waiting list to be tested for COVID-19 in Nueces Co. during Monday's daily city-county joint news conference; 200 of those people are scheduled to be tested Tuesday.
4:44 p.m. - Nueces Co. is reporting 288 new cases on Monday, giving the county a total of 4,084 reported cases since March. Of those cases, 449 patients have recovered.
3:24 p.m. - Aransas County reports 35 total cases Monday.
2:24 p.m. - San Patricio Public Health Preparedness Manager Clara Rieder reports seventeen new cases Monday. The county’s confirmed COVID-19 case count is now 204 with 127 active cases. Nine people have been released from COVID-19 protocol.
12:30 p.m. - Public Health Director Annette Rodriguez has confirmed that the State-Supported Living Center now has 103 cases; 66 are employees and 37 are residents.
11:53 a.m. - The Corpus Christi-Nueces Public Health District has received confirmation of the 18th death of a Nueces County resident due to COVID-19.
Officials state the deceased is a male patient in-between the age of 20-29 years old and was hospitalized in late-June. Read the full story here.
10:00 a.m. - Duval, Jim Hogg , and Bee County cases continue to rise. Jim Hogg County is reporting 22 cases this morning. They have 13 recovered and nine currently active. Duval County reports they have 63 confirmed COVID-19 cases. 54 cases are active. Bee County added 30 additional covid-19 cases. They have 65 confirmed COVID-10 cases and are reporting 23 are active.
