CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The amnesty period for the annual Great Texas Warrant roundup is nearly over.

That means if you have any outstanding warrants or unpaid citations, today and Friday are your last opportunities to take care of them.

Keep in mind that if you do not take care of outstanding warrants or citations, you could be arrested beginning on Saturday.

That’s when the warrant roundup starts.

“We have what we call safe harbor in the law,” City Municipal Court Judge Gail Loeb said. “That means when people come in voluntarily, they won’t get arrested. even if they have warrants. So now is the time to do it.”

As a result, the Municipal Court is operating on extended hours right now.

They will be open from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. this week.
