Increasing sunshine for the remainder of the weekend

We saw a stormy start to our Saturday here in the Coastal Bend.

A strong line of thunderstorms rolled through early this morning dumping some heavy rainfall along with some gusty winds with a few of those showers lingering through the afternoon.

The clouds and rain did help to keep our temperatures a bit below average today with an afternoon high of 88 and picked up close to an inch of rain at the airport.

We should see a bit more sunshine and warmer temperatures for the remainder of the holiday weekend. However, the first real cold front of the season will roll through Wednesday. This will likely trigger more showers and bring us some cooler temperatures for the latter half of the week.

The forecast for tonight calls for mostly cloudy skies with a stray shower possible and an overnight low around 77 degrees.

We will see a mixture of sunshine and clouds both Sunday and Monday with daytime highs in the lower 90s. Showers will return Tuesday and Wednesday.
