CORPUS CHRISTI, TX — Hurricane Delta is growing in size and intensifying late today, bringing coastal flooding, outer rain bands, and a gusty north wind to the Coastal Bend.

The storm will sweep by to our east, however, and impact the southwest Louisiana coast Friday evening. A hot and dry weekend is expected for us.

In the wake of Hurricane Delta, surface and upper-level high pressure move into South Texas, bringing searing heat that will approach all-time daily highs.

The mercury will surge into the middle to upper 90s, with some interior locations over the century mark.

By Tuesday of next week, a cold front will take temperatures down by about ten degrees. Isolated showers are expected for the middle of next week.
