A cold front has moved through and left us with a winter-like blast. Nearly all of the Coastal Bend is expected to see the first freeze of the season on Tuesday night.

Tuesday’s forecast

The temperatures will drop all night on Monday night, leaving us in the upper 30s by Tuesday morning. There could be some patches of drizzle early in the morning, but that will clear away quickly. Sunshine will take over for the rest of the day, but it will only warm temperatures up to the upper 40s to near 50 degrees.

A clear night will allow temperatures to plummet on Tuesday night. We are likely to see our first freeze of the season by early Wednesday morning. Inland area will likely dip down into the 20s for several hours. You’ll want to take the typical freezing weather precautions—bring in pets, cover plants, and wrap exposed plumbing pipes.

Wednesday’s forecast

More sunshine will stick around for Wednesday, but it will still only warm us to the 50s. Winds will also die down, which will take temperatures back to near freezing by early Thursday morning.

Thursday and Friday

The end of the week will feature mostly sunny skies and temperatures will gradually moderate. We should be back to the 60s by Thursday and the 70s by Friday.
