Get ready for a toasty weekend, but it will be short-lived. By Monday, fall will arrive with a force.
The Weekend
Humidity has been streaming into the area as our winds are now coming off the Gulf. This will combine with temperatures near 90 degrees to make it feel like a late-summer weekend. We could see a few isolated pop up showers, but most folks will get by without any rain.
The tides are still expected to be elevated for much of the weekend. Levels could be 1-2 feet above normal. The rip current risk will also be in the moderate category, so use caution if planning to be in the water this weekend.
Monday’s forecast
A cold front will be headed toward the Coastal Bend on Monday. As of right now, the front looks to split the day in two. We’ll start the day warm and humid in the 80s, and then the cold front will arrive between late-morning and midday. From there, temperatures plummet to the 60s and the chance for rain picks up. By evening, temperatures look to fall into the 50s with windy conditions and rain possible—talk about a change of seasons!
You’ll want to be sure to send the kids to school with a jacket because the warm morning will turn into a chilly afternoon.
