We are waking up to some pretty heavy rainfall across portion of the City of Corpus Christi this morning.

The south side has received some of the heaviest rain with some locations picking up more than an inch of rain.

People should use caution when driving this morning.

There have already been reports of some flooded streets.

The forecast calls for more showers and  thunderstorms today with an afternoon high around 88 degrees.

Tonight we can expect mostly cloudy skies with a few showers possible.

We will see an overnight low around 77 degrees.

Expect mostly light winds today.

Showers will become a little less widespread for the week ahead.

We can expect only isolated showers Monday through Wednesday.

High pressure will also be building in for the latter half of the week.

This will bring and drier and warmer weather.

Daytime highs will be in the lower 90’s with overnight lows in the upper 70’s.

We do have a new tropical storm named Chris off the East Coast.

This will likely remain over open water.
