Tropical moisture is on the rise in the Coastal Bend with more activity expected as Father’s Day weekend draws to a close.
Hot and humid conditions dominated Saturday with an afternoon high of 92 degrees. Isolated showers were seen in some areas of the Coastal Bend.
Tonight, the forecast calls for partly cloudy skies with a chance of showers continuing and an overnight low around 77.
On Sunday, the tropical wave near the Yucatan will inch closer to the area, leading to an increased chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. A daytime high around 92 is expected.
The chance of rain increases heading into the workweek, with tropical downpours possible throughout the area. These downpours could cause localized flooding in some areas.
Heavy rainfall chance is highest on Monday through Wednesday.
