Despite some showers and storms moving through late Friday night bringing some very strong winds that caused some damage to resident homes, it was a very nice weekend in South Texas. That storm system that brought the strong winds early Saturday morning is now to our east and bringing some severe weather to the mid-Atlantic coast and a round of heavy snowfall to the Upper-Midwest, Great Lakes area.
For the time being, we will be under the control of high pressure, but another upper-level disturbance is moving into the Pacific Northwest and that will begin to increase our winds out of the southeast by tomorrow afternoon right off the Gulf and help usher in more humidity.
Monday will still be fairly nice with highs in the low 80s, but winds will be increasing out of the south-southeast around 15-25 & gusting. Dewpoints will still be low for our inland areas and a Fire Weather Watch is in effect which means increased wildfire potential. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
Much of the same is expected on Tuesday, but it will be warmer with mainly sunny skies. Wednesday, clouds will begin to increase, but the winds will relax some through Thursday and the storm system to our north moves east. They will pick back up on Friday and into the weekend ahead of yet another upper-level low that will move into the Rockies. Only a few showers expected Friday and Saturday, winds will be too strong for anything more, before the surface front moves through early Sunday morning and ushers in slightly cooler and drier air for Sunday afternoon and early next week.
