The victim in Saturday night's fatal shooting has been identified by the Nueces County Medical Examiner's Office as 38-year-old Joe Damien Magallan.

UPDATE: MAY 11 - 3:37PM:

Homicide detectives found that a group of males began arguing. One of the men showed a handgun, and the men fought over the handgun. During the fight, the victim was shot.

17-year-old Michael Gonzalez and 17-year-old John Salazar were arrested for murder and transported to the City Detention Center for booking.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Corpus Christi Police Department is investigating after a man was found dead from an apparent gunshot wound near Cheryl Drive and Mansheim Boulevard early Sunday morning.

Officers were called out to a shooting at 12:33 a.m. and found a man in his 30s dead from an apparent gunshot wound. Police say initial information is that two men were arguing, and the victim was shot.

Officers have detained several suspects as part of their investigation.
