Some of our local first responders were treated to a free meal and some patriotic music this weekend.
The free meals were from Chops and Eggs Restaurant and the music was provided by the Patriots Band of America.
Friday's event was a way to say thank you to our first responders. They also were provided free meals on Saturday.
"The people seemed to appreciate it, and I even had one lady get up and actually salute, so it just goes to show that patriotism in this community in particular,” said Ramiro “Ram” Amaya of the Patriots Band of America.
Jesse Garcia of the patriots band said these tributes are needed to remember those heroes.
"We still feel it,” he said. “We still want to remember. And we need to remember."
