ROBSTOWN, Texas — Volunteers with Burn Pits 360 are calling on all first responders, military veterans, and supporters to take part in their second annual ruck march.

The march will begin at the Warrior Support Center and will stretch a total of twenty miles and will end at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.

First responders, our Action 10 news team spoke to say this will be a time to honor and reflect on the ones who paid the ultimate sacrifice.

“Talk to our vets, ask them about their families, ask them what they did in our military, I think you would be surprised to know how incredible some of these veterans are,” says Nueces County special investigator Mike Tamez.

Veteran Mike Tamez will be guiding traffic, making sure folks are safe while showing support for those who will be taking part in the 2nd annual Texas Patriot Ruck March.

However, Tamez can not do it alone.

The proceeds of the ruck march, will not only help the Warrior Support Center but also a fellow brother, Moises Sanchez.

“You're not only supporting our veterans are people that sacrificed for us but it's also a fundraiser for Trooper Sanchez to help him out help his recovery efforts,” says Capt. Danny Lorberau.

Back in April of 2019 near Edinburg Texas, Department of Public Safety Trooper Moises Sanchez was shot in the head after a traffic stop.

Sanchez is recovering after his injuries and first responders say they stand with him and our United States military.

“It's just a small sacrifice on our part and giving back to them to show them that we're out here and we're supporting you and we got you, no matter what,” says City of Robstown Deputy Constable Melissa Ramon.

Volunteers with Burn Pits 360 say anyone is welcomed to participate in the march.

First responders also add that it is important that the community take time out and get to know these veterans.

“That's what made this country so great, is our military and they fought for our freedom so at least we can do is help out in this kinda way,” says Capt. Danny Lorberau.

The march will begin Saturday, July 27th, 2019 at 7 am.

If you would like to register, you can visit the Warrior Support Center at 201 N. 4th Street in Robstown Texas.

Volunteers also add that folks also have the option to run or walk during the march.
