Young cancer patients were out on the water this morning to take part in a fun fishing competition.
20 patients from Corpus Christi and the Rio Grande Valley participated in Driscoll Children’s Hospital 27th annual Chemo Kids Fish Off.
Hospital staff and guides volunteered to take the kids out on boats and get their mind off chemotherapy and enjoy a day of fishing.
At the conclusion of the fish-off, awards were presented for biggest fish, smallest fish, weirdest fish and most pounds of fish caught. Today’s young anglers also got to take home all the fish they caught. .
