A new program is offering Corpus Christi residents impacted by COVID-19 some help providing food for their pets.
The group called "People Assisting Animal Control" distributed dog and cat food at the Whole Pets Market on Thursday. THe new initiative is called 'COVID-19 Pet Food Pantry.'
Each participant was able to get two weeks supply of food based on their animals weight. Food availability is reliant on donations.
Requirements for applicants who want to recieve free pet food are as follows:
Applicant must be 18 years or older.
Only one applicant per household.
Must be a City of Corpus Christi resident and show proof of residency with a government-issued photo ID (Texas ID, Texas Drivers License or Military ID only). If the address on the ID is not in the City of Corpus Christi, applicants must have a lease agreement or utility bill as proof of residency.
