A local rabbi has died from the COVID-19 virus.
Rabbi Kenneth D. Roseman died Sunday morning after a long battle with the COVID-19 virus. He was 80-years-old.
"It is with profound sadness that we must share the news that Rabbi Kenneth Roseman passed away this morning after several weeks of battling COVID-19," said RabbiIlan Emanuel in a post .
His death was the third official COVID-19 death confirmed by Nueces County.
According to bethisraelcc.com, Rabbi Roseman was a prize-winning book author for readers of all ages and a highly regarded teacher.
In 1966, Rabbi Kenneth D. Roseman was ordained in Cincinnati, Ohio at Hebrew Union College Jewish Institute of Religion. He had Ph.D. degree in American-Jewish History.
After ordination, he taught at his college for eight years; four of those years he served as Dean.
He spent time at the Institute for Jewish Life in New York before moving to Temple Beth El in Madison Wisconsin in 1976.
He eventually came to Texas in 1985. He and his family relocated to Temple Shalom in Dallas and then to Congregation Beth Israel Corpus Christi in 2002.
