Kingsville ISD summer food service canceled after contractor tests positive for COVID-19

Kingsville ISD has reported that they are halting summer food services after a technology contractor who worked on the campus tested positive for COVID-19.

Summer food services and summer school instruction have been canceled. The food program was scheduled to end on July 8th.

According to a post from the district, the contractor was last in the KISD administration building on both June 15 and June 22. KISD officials were notified of the positive test on June 27.

The district has also been notified of an employee's mother who has tested positive for the virus. The district says this employee was last in the building on June 25 and will be tested as soon as possible.

KISD will be closed until Tuesday, July 14 to allow a 14-day quarantine period. The administrative offices will be sanitized, Monday, July 13.

KISD representatives recommend their employees remain quarantined for 14 days and to be tested for COVID-19.

KISD says all employees were and required to wear a mask in the building.
