A huge drop in cancer diagnosis worries doctors about a potential surge in advanced cases later.

A new study showed the number of lung, breast, colon, gastric, pancreatic and esophageal cancers fell 46 percent between March and April.

Doctors say that's because people delayed cancer screenings or had them canceled altogether due to the pandemic.

They worry the drop in cases diagnosed will lead to a surge of advanced cases now that screenings have resumed.
