A woman from Abilene won $500 in a Selena look-alike contest in San Antonio.
The contest was held at Industry night club in San Antonio last Friday, along with a Selena sing-a-like contest.
The Cooper High School graduate, Maxine Hinojosa, shared a total of $1,000 in prize money that was split with second and third place.
“My mom always played her music in the car when I was younger. one that I most remember is the song ‘Dreaming Of You,'” Hinojosa told NEWS4SA, “I’ve always been a Selena fan for as long as I can remember. I always thought she was so beautiful and her smile always moved me.”
She also said that she loved the Selena movie growing up.
