DPS Troopers say a one-vehicle rollover crash left two people dead.

The incident happened at 5:49 p.m. Saturday afternoon, eleven miles south of the U.S. Border Patrol checkpoint in Kennedy County.

Troopers say a preliminary investigation revealed a 2002 Ford Explorer was traveling north on U.S. 77, and for unknown reasons, the female driver lost control of the SUV.

The driver overcorrected which caused the vehicle to overturn multiple times according to a crash report.

DPS Troopers said the passenger, identified as 51-year-old Francisco Radamez Garcia from Brownsville,  was not wearing a seatbelt belt at the time of the crash. He was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver, identified as 51-year-old Maria De Jesus Garcia from Brownsville, was also pronounced dead at the scene along with Garcia.

Meanwhile, DPS investigators say they will continue to investigate the fatal crash.
