While the Coastal Bend continues to bathe in warm, humid Gulf air for the next few days, a weak cold front will bring some drying by Friday.

And following a quick recovery early next week, a Polar air mass invades the region to deliver a cold, windy and wet Tuesday.

The atmosphere is of average moisture content for this time of year, and instability is marginal for producing showers.

With daytime heating, a few showers will appear Wednesday, and isolated showers return Thursday as moisture increases.

Friday's early morning cold front will not have enough punch to generate rainfall but does lower Saturday temperatures by about five degrees.

A much stronger system dives out of Canada, through the Rockies, and into the Coastal Bend by early Tuesday, sending temperatures plummeting amid widespread rain and a gusty north wind.

Highs will remain in the 80s through Monday, then fall through the day on Tuesday into the upper 40s by late afternoon.

Lows will be in the upper 60s to middle 70s before Tuesday's cold air.
