CORPUS CHRISTI - We asked Chip Baish and Gerald Garcia with the city's Wastewater Department to meet us at Ted Gonzalez's home. We wanted their expert opinion on why Gonzalez's backyard was flooded. CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - An elderly man who suffers from Dementia wrote thousands of dollars in checks to a man named Rick Mason to repair his home. The man's family says Mason didn't actually do $11,000.00 dollars worth of work.
Mason was supposed to meet Action 10 News at the man's home Wednesday morning, to show us what he did for all the money, but he backed out citing medical reasons. He asked us to give him one more week.

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - Maria Eyrlas says she is the caregiver and power of attorney for her cousin Simplicio Garcia. We're told Garcia has dementia, and that's why Eyrlas was shocked to find out Garcia wrote thousands of dollars worth of checks to a repairman without her knowledge.
"11-thousand dollars to do this little paint job, and patch the roof? I don't think so," Eyrlas said.

The Stingerette Twirlers sold hundreds of boxes of cookies to pay their way to a competition, but 39-year old James Campbell, from the company "South Texas Fundraising Solutions, Inc" has still not delivered the cookies the girls payed for back in October of 2009.

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - A homeowner says a tree is bringing down utility pole wires, and no one wants to fix it.
Ray Garcia says he has called the city, A.E.P., AT&T and the cable companies, but they all say it's not their problem.

CORPUS CHRISTI -- "All of the heavy rain we had recently, our backyard was like a lake. It was completely underwater."

CORPUS CHRISTI - Javier Cano said his son Xavier was just three months old when CPL Retail Energy shut off their electricity.
"Well, he was three months when they cut my light off, and I was aggravated because I mean, he's three months," said Cano. "And they just didn't want to help."
CPL shut off the electricity, because Cano couldn't pay the electricity bills.

SINTON - Sewage filled Maria Garcia's front yard, and it spilled over from the toilet in her apartment.
These were problems Garcia said she had for over two weeks.
It was during those two weeks that Garcia said she tried calling her landlord, Carolyn George, numerous times to get help.
She said it was only when Action 10 News called George on Saturday that a plumber finally came out.

ORANGE GROVE -- Even the toughest four-wheel drive truck has trouble getting down the road. But because it's a private road, neighbors like Phyllis Summerfield are having even more trouble getting anything done about it.
The road is just plain dirt, and it's the only connection between a neighborhood of about 15 homes to the state highway.

CORPUS CHRISTI - Lucio Coronado said he bought a van from Gold Key Auto Sales in March.
He said while the company was making repairs to it, they sold it to another person.
"I mean, it's my van," Coronado said. "I pay for my van; they cannot take my van."
Coronado said he bought the 2000 Dodge Caravan from Gold Key Auto Sales after trading in another van for $1,500.
