Warm and dry for the next few days

Posted: Updated:

A couple of stray sea breeze showers are possible for the next few days, but generally speaking, rain chances stay low through the end of the week.

Wednesday’s forecast

High pressure remains in control, meaning that we’ll see partly cloudy skies and warm temperatures in the low 90s. Some morning fog will be around for the inland locations, but along the coast, visibilities should be fine.

It will be humid again, so our heat index will be challenging the 100 degree mark during the afternoon.

End of the week

By week’s end, we’ll start to watch a small and weak weather system approach the western Gulf. However, we’ll still be ahead of it and dealing with the warm and dry conditions thanks to high pressure.

The weekend

The weather system will move into our vicinity on Saturday, but moisture levels in the atmosphere will be pretty low. We may be able to squeeze out some showers, but they’ll likely be few and far between.

By Sunday, another big area of African dust will move into our skies, meaning that our weekend sky will be pretty murky.

Tropical update

The National Hurricane Center is still monitoring the area the used to be Hurricane Beryl for redevelopment. It’s currently in unfavorable conditions, but over the next couple of days, the atmosphere may be a little more favorable for some development. Regardless, it will not be a threat to the Gulf, and it even looks unlikely to be a threat to the East Coast.

Meanwhile, Chris became a hurricane offshore of the East Coast. It is expected to stay offshore and head northeastward toward the Canadian Maritime Provinces. Increased swells and rip currents will be the primary threats along the East Coast.
