Crews battle Sam Rankin fire

Posted: Updated:

It was an early morning for the Corpus Christi Fire Department, as multiple crews were called out to fight a fire near downtown.

It happened around 3:00 a.m. in the 700 block of Sam Rankin, between I-37 and Leopard.

Flames could be seen from our skycam as crews battled to put them out.

We're told the house is vacant.

It took about twenty minutes to put out the flames.

No one was hurt but a nearby power line was damaged from the fire as well.

No word on the cause of the fire.
