With all the construction going on around town, you may have noticed some suspicious cars with flashing lights.

We've obtained photos of two of those vehicles spotted along Everhart Road and Corona Drive Friday afternoon. One of the vehicles had a sticker that read "POLICE" on its bumper.

Lt. John Hooper with the Corpus Christi Police Department says off-duty uniformed officers are in those cars.  They're working with construction contractors repairing streets.

The officers are contracted to provide security and help with traffic control in busy streets that are under construction.

Police say if you see one of these vehicles in a construction zone only, don't be alarmed.
