UPDATE: Carroll High School Principal, Dr. Kelly Manlove says two people suspected of starting the fire are now in custody, but she was unable to provide any information regarding the suspects or their relationship to the school.

A fire at Carroll High School caused a brief evacuation of the building this morning.

According to Dr. Kelly Manlove, the school’s principal, smoke was reported coming from a restroom at about 8 a.m.

Staff pulled the fire alarm and the building was evacuated.

Emergency crews responded and firefighters extinguished fires in three boys bathrooms.

Student s and staff were able to reenter the building and begin classes on time, Manlove said.

Manlove says no one was injured during the fire, and that the damage caused was not extensive. CCISD maintenance crews are at the school to clean up after the fires and make minor repairs.
