CA Sheriffs: Dying woman uses last breath to name her killers

Posted: Updated:

A young woman...stabbed and left for dead on a rural Livermore road.  Now, we're learning how she crawled to get help.

And how her dying words led authorities right to her suspected killers.

Passing motorists reported the injured woman lying along Tesla road in unincorporated Livermore two miles west of the Carnegie State Vehicular Recreation Area.

Around 2 a.m. a driver saw a bloodied young woman crawling along the ground on Tesla road -- a rural part of the county -- and called 911.

Here are the first dispatch calls sent out  to  emergency responders:

"There's a female crawling on the road. She is missing an arm and she is bloody "

"Initially they thought the woman may have had a severed arm -  that was not true - She has her arm under her body as she crawled," said Sgt . Ray Kelly with the Alameda County Sheriffs Dept

The Alameda County Sheriffs Department said the young woman was stabbed multiple times, assaulted and left for dead on the side of the road.

But she had the strength to crawl 100 yards back to the road.

Police Dispatch Recording:

Another passing motorist is advising it appears  to have been stabbed in the throat - no suspects at this time

A trail of blood and clothes lined the roadway.

The victim was airlifted to Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley, the closest trauma center.

Authorities say she hung onto life two more hours. And then -- before she died -- her final words to investigators were the names of the two people who did it.

"This victim really tried to survive. She fought and she fought. The last thing we believe she was able to do was to point us in the direction of the people who killed her," said Sgt. Kelly, "We have a compelling dying declaration. We will back it up with evidence and proof for the investigation."
