I-37 crash leaves one dead, two injured

CORPUS CHRISTI -

A fatal car accident occurred early Friday morning at the intersection of North Port Avenue and I-37.  One person is dead and two others have been hospitalized according to police.

Around 1 a.m. Friday morning, a car traveling toward the downtown area ran off the road, rolling over about 200 feet and ejecting a passenger.

CCPD says the ejected passenger was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver and other passenger were transported to an area hospital. Their conditions are not known at this time.

The Nueces County Medical Examiner has identified the deceased as 31-year-old Timothy Trevino. A cause of death has not been released pending an autopsy

The names of the other victims have not been released and police say the investigation is ongoing.
