CORPUS CHRISTI -

Moody High School was turned upside down last month when the principal suffered a stroke.  Dr. Sandra Clements is expected to make a full recovery but in the meantime, students and staff are feeling the void.

“Dr. Clement is the heart of our school and it's just different not seeing her smile every day in the hallways,” Jordan Meza, a Moody senior said.

“Her not being here is just kind of like quiet and it's weird because you don't have her energy spreading around,” Madelyn Perez, another Moody senior said.

A few students arranged a surprise visit while Dr. Clements was at a rehabilitation session on Wednesday.  It was an emotional event for Clements.

“I miss you guys so much,” Dr. Clement cried, “You all just made my whole day.  I've just been so sad missing y'all...just so sad,”

Early detection may have prevented her from suffering brain damage.  Doctors are optimistic she will recover fully.

And though the students showed up to support Dr. Clements, in true school administrator fashion, Dr. Clements made sure to let the students know she was still looking out for them.

“Look at you guys...who took you out of class?!?” she asked.
