Ex-employees of doctor file lawsuit, claim unwanted advances

Posted: Updated:
CORPUS CHRISTI -

Two former employees who worked for Dr. Jaime Sandoval have filed a civil lawsuit against him.  Each is asking for $100,000.

Dr. Jaime Sandoval is already facing criminal charges for sexual assault.  He was arrested last July for sexual assault of at least three female patients.  That trial is set for February 26th.

The two former employees who are noted as Jane Does in the petition, filed with the courts on October 3, 2017.  A hearing was scheduled for Wednesday afternoon in County Court at Law 3.

In the original petition, the women claim they were the victims of sexual misconduct. They state they were forced to undergo "unwanted and unnecessary EKG testing". According to their lawsuit, each time they were tested, Dr. Sandoval "had to" personally adjust the EKG leads in the area of their exposed chests.

They claim that while employed, Dr. Sandoval made unwanted advances towards them causing them to suffer personal injury and mental anguish.

Both women are seeking compensation for physical pain and suffering they've experienced in the past and the pain they will experience in the future. They also want to be compensated for their mental anguish.

They've asked for $100,000 each. The monetary relief will exclude court courts and attorney's fees.

Dr. Jaime Sandoval is currently out on a $50,000 bond and surrendered his Texas medical license on August 25, 2017.
