State notifies Judge's lawyer of 44 witnesses

Posted: Updated:
CORPUS CHRISTI -

Suspended District Court Judge Guy Williams faces a March trial after being indicted on two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
The charges are related to a road rage incident that was reported last April.
He is also facing trouble from within the courthouse he presided in.

We have reported that 2 women who work at the Nueces County Courthouse have filed sexual harassment complaints, claiming they were victims of unwelcomed touching by Williams at a local nightclub last August.
Action Ten News has obtained a copy of a document from the Attorney General's office that names names, places, and tells exactly what happened.

The document is titled Notice To Defendant, which is Judge Guy Williams, of the State's Intent to Use Extraneous Offenses and Prior Convictions for Impeachment and/or Punishment.
It includes the names of 44 witnesses the state plans to call during Williams' trial and punishment phase, should he be convicted of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in his trial.

One of the names on the list is Judge Sandra Watts.  The document states that on August 9th 2017 Williams 'groped Watts on the buttocks and touched her inappropriately without her consent...then sent her a text message commenting on her body.'
On that same night, according to the state's document, Williams 'groped District Clerk Anne Lorentzen on the buttocks and otherwise touched her inappropriately without her consent.'

And yet again on that August night, the notice says Williams 'groped Lilia Ann Gutierrez on the buttocks and the breast and otherwise touched her inappropriately without her consent.'  Gutierrez is the Chief Deputy

There are other incidents mentioned in the state's notice.
For instance sometime between December 2013 and March 2014 the document says Williams 'made statements to Judge Missy Medary that he(defendant)stayed awake at night for 6 months thinking of ways to kill Judge David Stith.'

Williams later described the history and source of his animosity toward Judge Stith.
Again, this notice from the attorney general's office is to let Williams' attorneys know of witnesses and events it plans to reference during his trial and/or the punishment phase if necessary.
