Winter weather will be possible across the Coastal Bend tonight. Light snow may eventually move into the Northern Coastal Bend tonight. A greater winter weather event is expected along the coastal plains where a few inches of snow will be possible by sunrise Friday. Most snowfall accumulations will occur on grassy or elevated areas, such as bridges and overpasses. Cold wind chill values are also expected in addition to the possibility of snow.
A wind chill advisory will be in effect from midnight until 8 am Friday morning. This means cold air and wind will combine to create low wind chills.
A winter storm warning is in effect for Duval, Jim Wells, Kleberg, Nueces, and San Patricio counties from midnight until 8 am on Friday. This means snowfall amounts of 1 inch or greater are expected or occurring. Travel will become hazardous due to poor visibility and slippery roads.
