CORPUS CHRISTI -

With a big cold front coming in soon, area shelters are preparing for the influx of homeless people who will be seeking shelter from the cold weather.

Staff at the Good Samaritan Rescue Mission has stocked up on food and water, and also clearing out floor space to create more sleeping areas for the extra people expected to come in overnight.

"Additionally we'll have extra personnel on duty during the overnight hours and the early morning hours so we can process people, get them situated as best we can," said Spencer Lowe of the Good Samaritan Rescue.

Officials with the Good Samaritan shelter are expecting anywhere from 30 to 50 more people than usual.

Due to the influx of people expected to come in, items needed at the shelter are extra blankets.

If you'd like to make a donation, you can drop it off at the shelter located at 210 South Alameda.
