Family is mourning the death of a woman who was killed along the Crosstown Expressway, Monday morning.
30-year-old, Rosalee Michelle Beasley-Garcia was hit and killed while walking along the Crosstown Expressway near Port and Horne. "Both drivers are very shaken up right now. But they're not at fault in this case," said Lt. Timothy Frazier.
Garcia's mother says, she found out about the accident through Facebook. The accident happened about a mile away from her home, she immediately went to the scene. "I broke down, I don't even remember what happened, I just remember having chest pains, they had to call the ambulance," said Cynthia Flores.
Police tell us, they don't know why Garcia was walking along the roadway. The family is still trying to figure it out, why she was there in the first place.
Over the weekend, Garcia showed signs of erratic behavior. Her mother, says she went to the emergency room twice, where she was told, she was having an anxiety attack. Flores believes her daughter may have been having a bad reaction to medication but insist she was not a drug user.
"Something was wrong, and I know they are going to do an autopsy, and I need to know what happened to her, because it's not right," said Flores.
The family says, Rosalee Michelle was married but had no kids. They are hoping to have more answers in the next coming days.
