Pet Rescue: Dumped Dogs

Posted: Updated:

The dogs are full grown and without a home. Marissa Salinas works at a nearby restaurant and saw the dogs being dumped by their owner.

"I mean, he knew he did wrong he zoomed off really fast driving a brand new Toyota truck grey," said Salinas.

The dogs were skiddish and they're running away from people and animal advocates. Marissa was able to get close to them yesterday. They came up to her when she was in her car.

"I was heartbroken and I immediately posted it on social media," said Salinas.

Animal Advocate Staci Donnely saw the post and did what she does best. Rescue hurt, neglected, and abandoned animals. She began feeding them to draw them in and it worked, at least at first.

She tried to put the leash over the first dog's neck but the dog was too scared and didn't want any part of it. And the black and white dog was too skiddish so Staci decided on plan B.

She trapped them the same night. People dumping dogs is nothing new to her. "It's non-stop," said Donnely.
