On Saturday, December 2, 2017, the Harbor Lights Festival will celebrate its 36th Anniversary, with a "Texas Strong Holiday."
Plans are underway to assure this special anniversary year is celebrated with lots of cheer, fun, and free activities for thousands of children.
"The Harbor Lights Festival is a free community event that encourages family friendly entertainment. We are grateful for the generosity of our many sponsors and volunteers," states Maria Pedraza, Board President.
On Saturday, the fun kicks off at 1:00pm with the AEP Texas Children's Parade. The Parade will travel on Shoreline Blvd beginning at Kinney Street, going north to Schatzel St. where a panel of judges will score the parade groups to name winners in several categories.
At 1:30 pm, the Children's Fun Zone opens with inflatables and games along with the Children's Activity Area with arts and crafts for kids of all ages.
Followed at 2pm by the opening of the Children's Gift of Love where kids can play games and win prizes to give to people they love.
The entertainment stage will open at 4:00pm and with on going musical groups. The Tree of Lights Ceremony begins at 6:00 pm.
BMW of Corpus Christi will present Santa's Motorcade as it makes it's way to the Main Stage at 6:30pm for the official lighting of The Trees of Lights.
The evening will continue with a closing concert performed by the amazingly talented Hilda Lamas.
The evening wraps up with the brilliant lights of the Illuminated Boat Parade, which starts at 7:00pm in the Corpus Christi Marina.
