CORPUS CHRISTI -

Police say two men have been arrested in connection with a south side shooting that left one man dead.

The shooting happened last Thursday just before noon at a home on the 7000 block of Copper Mountain Dr.

Police say there was apparently a barbecue going on when two vehicles pulled up to the home, and a group of people inside those vehicles forced their way inside.

One of the drivers was shot in the neck and crashed into a home across the street as he tried to flee from the scene.

The victim was taken to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries, but it is unknown what day he actually died.

The Nueces County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the victim as 44-year-old Frederick Poteat.

39-year-old Frederson Lacloud Ramsey and 32-year-old Ronald Everett Richards have been charged with burglary with intent to commit a felony.

Police say it will be up to the District Attorney's Office to decide whether charges will be upgraded.

This is a developing story. Action 10 will continue to bring you more updates when they become available.
