CCPD continues investigation into south side shooting

Posted: Updated:
CORPUS CHRISTI -

CCPD investigators are still trying to determine what led to a shooting on the city's south side that sent a man to the hospital.

It happened Thursday around 11:30 a.m. at a home on the 7000 block of Copper Mountain Drive.

According to police, two cars pulled up to the home where a barbecue was going on in the front yard.

Police say the several men got out of the vehicles and at some point forced their way inside the home.

Shortly after a shooting occurred that left one of the drivers with gunshot wound to his neck.

The victim was taken to the hospital, but his condition remains unknown at this time.

Police say that this was not a "random incident" but the shooting is still under investigation.

This is a developing story. Action 10 will continue to bring you the latest updates when they become available.
