Actor Jeremy Renner and his fans have donated $20,000 to Driscoll Children’s Hospital to help with expenses incurred during Hurricane Harvey.

The funds were raised through his app, where he asked fans to donate to Driscoll Children's Hospital as part of a contest for an “Avengers” set visit.

“As a father I can think of no better way to give back, to show support and love than to a child. I hope this donation to Driscoll Children’s Hospital on behalf of myself, my daughter Ava and my fans help ease some of the suffering and hardship that Hurricane Harvey inflicted. Much love to you all and hoping for a very speedy recovery,” said Renner.

“Thank you to Jeremy and all of his fans who raised $20,000 for Hurricane Harvey assistance to Driscoll Children’s Hospital. We could not be more thrilled with his support in helping us offset the transport expenses incurred when we evacuated 16 of our most fragile NICU babies out of harm’s way before the storm and brought them home afterward,” said Martha Avery, Vice President of Development at Driscoll Children’s Hospital.

Best known as archer Hawkeye in “The Avengers” franchise, Renner also has appeared in the  “Mission: Impossible” series and such films as “The Hurt Locker,” “The Town,” “The Bourne Legacy,” “American Hustle,” and “Arrival.”
