KINGSVILLE -

A devastating early morning crash has left a young woman dead and another in critical condition.

The crash happened near Kingsville on US Highway 77 around 5 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Troopers say a 21-year-old female driver and 24-year-old female passenger, both from Brownsville, were on their way to San Antonio.

According to Troopers, the driver drifted over her lane and overcorrected, causing the vehicle to roll over multiple times.

The passenger, who Troopers say was not wearing her seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle.

She was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash and has been identified as Rebecca Michelle Solis.

Troopers say the driver was wearing her seatbelt, but was airlifted to a Corpus Christi hospital in critical condition.

DPS PIO Nathan Brandley says the crash was not weather-related, and the road was dry and the sky was clear at the time of the accident.

At this time DPS is still investigating the crash, and the driver's condition remains unknown.

Action 10 News will bring you further updates on her condition when we receive them.
