Driver of smashed vehicle seeks help from community

Posted: Updated:

A man is asking for the public's help following a rollover accident that totaled his SUV.

It happened at the intersection of Flour Bluff and Glen Oak Drive, Monday evening.

"I remember it was a white car that pulled up in front of me, I don't have detailed description, just a white car," said Ty Dietz.

Dietz says, the white car never hit his SUV but he lost control after the driver cut in front of him. "When I tried to auto correct it, I lost control, I ended up upside down on the ditch."

A couple of good samaritans helped get Dietz out of the smashed SUV.  He says, the driver of the white vehicle never stopped to render aid.

Dietz is recovering with a bruised back, shoulder and neck. He considers himself lucky, but his SUV is a different story. The vehicle is considered totaled.

"It's pretty scary that there is people that don't have the heart to stop and help somebody, no matter what, I don't know why they didn't stop, I know, I would," said Dietz.

A police report has been filed.  If you witnessed the accident, you are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 888-TIPS.
